William was born in California. He came into the world delivered by his grandfather who was a surgeon for the Northern Pacific Railroad. At the age of 2 he stood in front of the whole town of Dunsmir and read "T'was the night before Christmas". At the age of 7 he was one of 12 students that were selected to be a California Gifted academics or Artistically talented education also known as GATE Kids. This program was used as the basis for all gifted programs across the United States.
He went to College at Fresno College and then transferred to Berkley and worked on getting a teaching degree.
One of the things he remembered was seeing the flash from the bombing of Japan that ended World War II.
William met and married the love of his life, Cynthia Crawford, in Fresno.
He moved his family to Seattle, and worked for the city, doing street maintence.
In 1969 he was hired by Mountain Fir lumber company. He moved his family to the small town of Tygh Vally, Oregon, where he worked for 22 years.
He moved to Texas in 1996, living in Irving and Lewisville before settling in Ponder. While in Texas, Bill worked for Stone Panels and The Home Depot.
